Kusadasi travel guide
The basics for a few days in Kusadasi: where to swim, how to get around, what the sea and the weather are like, and when the port is busy. We only write what we know; opening hours and prices change, so check them locally.
Beaches
There are several beaches in and around Kusadasi. These are easy to reach:
- Ladies Beach (Kadınlar Denizi): a town beach south of the centre, with cafés and hotels along the shore.
- Pamucak: a long sandy beach between Kusadasi and Selçuk. Our quad, buggy and horse safaris take place here.
- The coves of the Dilek Peninsula National Park, south of Kusadasi: our boat trip stops at them from 1 May to 15 September. The park can also be reached by road; it has its own opening hours and entrance rules, so check them at the gate.
Good to know at the beach
Sunbed prices, lifeguards and beach awards change from season to season, so we do not list them here. Bring sun cream and water: there is little shade on Pamucak beach at midday.
Getting around
- On foot: the cruise port, the seafront, the shopping streets and Pigeon Island are close together in the centre.
- Minibuses (dolmuş): local minibuses connect the centre with the beaches and the nearby towns. The route is written on a sign behind the windscreen. Routes and fares change, so ask at your hotel.
- Taxis: taxis wait at ranks in the centre. Say where you want to go before you set off. We do not publish taxi fares, because they are set locally and change.
- Private car with driver: our airport transfers and our trips to Ephesus and to Didim, Miletus and Priene are only for your group, with a fixed price per vehicle.
Sea and weather
Kusadasi has a Mediterranean climate: hot, dry summers and mild, wetter winters.

Events and busy days
We do not publish an events calendar: local event dates are often announced late and change. Two things we can tell you reliably:
- Cruise ships: the town centre and the port are busier when several ships are in. The ship schedule shows every call, with times where they have been published.
- Religious holidays: Ramadan and the two holidays (bayram) move every year with the lunar calendar. Services in the tourist areas usually carry on, but some offices and banks close.
