Both of Oceania Nautica-Aurelia’s Kusadasi calls fall in the middle of June, six days apart, and both share the port with two other ships. The published schedule (checked in October 2026) shows Monday 14 June and Sunday 20 June 2027. Early summer, a busy harbour, and times not yet known: the plan below is built around those three facts.
June 2027 at a glance
| Date | Other ships listed |
|---|---|
| Mon 14 June | Silver Nova, Britannia |
| Sun 20 June | Celestyal Journey, Norwegian Viva |
Arrival and departure times have not been announced yet. Check the schedule again closer to June, and once aboard, take the all-aboard time from the ship’s daily programme; it usually comes before the departure time.
Be honest about a short call
Many port days are not long enough for everything. If Oceania Nautica-Aurelia turns out to stay around six hours, the realistic plan is Ephesus with a quick Temple of Artemis stop, and nothing more. Sirince does not fit in a call of that length; do not try, because the return drive alone can take 25–40 minutes.
Here is a hypothetical six-hour example (not the ship’s times): arrival 08:00, departure 14:00.
- 08:30 — meet your driver at the cruise port exit. On a three-ship morning, allow extra time to get off the ship.
- 09:00–11:15 — Ephesus, from the upper gate down to the Great Theatre.
- 11:35–11:55 — Temple of Artemis.
- About 12:30 — back at the port, comfortably more than 60 minutes before the example departure.
If the call is longer
- About 7 hours: Ephesus plus Mary’s House, which in June also gives you shade.
- About 8 hours: Ephesus, Mary’s House and the Temple of Artemis; still leave Sirince out.
- 9 hours or more: all four places become realistic, with Sirince for a late lunch.
- 12 hours or more: do all four at an easy pace, or start later and keep Ephesus away from the midday sun.
Whatever the length, work back from the departure time so you are at the port at least 60 minutes before it.
The four places in mid-June
Ephesus. A Roman city on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2015. In June the sun is strong by late morning and the marble avenues are open to the sky, so go early and carry water.
House of the Virgin Mary. The woods on Nightingale Mountain keep this small stone house cooler than the valley. It is a place of prayer for many visitors, Christian and Muslim, so the visit is quiet.
Temple of Artemis. A single column standing in a field marks the site of one of the Seven Wonders. Set expectations accordingly and enjoy the view to Ayasuluk Hill and the Isa Bey Mosque.
Sirince. Old village houses, the restored Church of St John the Baptist and small shops selling olive oil and soaps. Midday is its busiest time.
Monday and Sunday, both busy
With three ships in port on each date, expect many groups to head to Ephesus around the same time in the morning. Two ways to handle it with a private car:
- Start at the House of the Virgin Mary and reach Ephesus after the first wave.
- Ask to be dropped at the upper gate and collected at the lower one, so you walk downhill and do not double back through the crowds.
Sun cream, a hat and good shoes matter more than usual in June.
Booking for 14 or 20 June
Book the Kusadasi–Ephesus private transfer. Your driver meets you at the cruise port exit, waits during each visit and drives you back to the ship. The car is private, for up to 8 passengers. Tell us which stops you want when you book and we confirm the plan with you before the day. Entrance tickets are not included. Cancellation is free up to 24 hours before.
Tickets are not included; buy Ephesus and Terrace Houses tickets in advance on our museum tickets page. Planning the visit? See our Ephesus walking guide and when to visit Ephesus.
Plan it with the current schedule
Good to know: the Kusadasi–Ephesus private transfer covers Ephesus. Stops at the House of the Virgin Mary, the Temple of Artemis and Sirince are not included and cost extra; tell us which ones you want when you book and we will confirm the plan and the cost.
